5 ways to mask the taste of CBD Oil
Maintaining good health is vital as everything else in your life stems from this. More than ever before, people are choosing to take CBD as a daily supplement and you should too!
People choose to take CBD for many different reasons including just to generally support and maintain their bodies. No matter what you take CBD for, it’s important to get as much from every dose as you can.
The oral or “sublingual” route of taking CBD is the best way with regards to easiness, simplicity, and comfort.
If you are not familiar with the term ‘sublingual’ it basically means ‘absorption under the tongue’. Not absorbed in the stomach or intestines like food is. As the sublingual method is a direct transfer to the blood, it avoids issues to do with intestine barriers. This route also allows the CBD to go straight into the blood- a GREAT way to take CBD.
BUT, one big BUT…
We regularly hear from our customers that due to the product being so natural and non-toxic that the taste of the CBD oil can make it hard for them to get the most from their product.
CBD oil is known for it’s earthy and natural taste and although this can be acquired, below we have listed some ways to help mask the taste. Using CBD oil is one of the best and most affordable ways to ingest CBD, so we want to make it easier for you:
-
Use Food
One of the most popular ways to hide or mask the taste of the oil is to have a piece of food ready to eat for after spraying. The most popular food people tend to use is chocolate (dark usually, or milk). Pop a square of this under your tongue after, or while using the oil.
If you would rather not use chocolate, simply try having a mint ready. To be honest, you can use almost anything if it’s going to make your experience better. It’s just a matter of finding out what works for you.
-
Have a drink handy
It is very important that you hold the oil UNDER your tongue for at least a minute if not two, following this take a drink to wash away the taste. Customers have told us that coffee is great to use due to its strong flavourings. Another great option is a fruit juice or lemon water. The citric tones almost completely take away the taste of the oil.
-
Brush your teeth just before use
If you’re administering the oil at home, a great way to minimise the taste of the CBD oil is to brush your teeth immediately before. By doing this, you experience more mint tones than the “earthy” hemp flavourings.
-
Breathe through your nose (obvious, but try it)
Yes, we may sound patronising, but just keep your mouth tightly closed once you have sprayed the oil and hold it there for a minute or two-during this period, just solely breathe out your nose. Maybe not the best at masking the taste, but it sure helps!
-
Try our capsules instead!
If all else fails…
Our capsules are a great way to ingest CBD without having to taste the hemp at all. It is a comfortable and easy way to take CBD and is good when you only need a small concentration of the product over a longer period of time.
Most people should be having 1-2 capsules a day for the CBD to get into their systems. You are ok to take them on an empty stomach although we do say try with food to start off. No need to slow down your active lifestyle; simply add CBD capsules to your daily vitamin routine.
If you would prefer to use a different method of CBD ingestion, find them all here!
Research shows that it takes up to ten tries of a new food to decide if you like it or not so hopefully using the oil will get easier for you. Don’t give up as CBD is vital when it comes to supporting and maintaining great health.
Another thing to remember is to make sure you are spraying the oil UNDER your tongue, not only will this improve your experience as it won’t affect your taste buds as much, but it gets into your bloodstream much faster than just spraying it directly into your mouth.
