The difference between CBD and RSO (Rick Simpson Oil)/Cannabis Oil

Today both terms are receiving special attention. CBD is more well-known now and in the media, both have a huge presense.

However, it is so, very, important that we clear up the confusion that is also in the media. As more people are coming out and saying that they have used cannabis in relation to cancer, this is NOT just by using CBD. News outlets have been getting confused and writing that it is ONLY CBD that people are using. In reality, it is infact RSO or cannabis oil they will be using which also contains THC.

CBD Oil should not be confused with Rick Simpson Oil.

RSO is a high-THC product that is illegal to make, use or possess in almost every country.

CBD Oil, on the other hand, is a high-CBD product with practically no THC that’s legal almost everywhere and helps in supporting and maintaining great health.

First things first, let us tell you about who Rick Simpson is and why he is important!

Who is Rick Simpson?

Rick Simpson stumbled upon his cannabis fame purely by accident. Long before “Rick Simpson Oil” was coined as a term, and long before cannabis was considered remotely mainstream.

He began cultivating his own cannabis and harvesting the plants to create his own specialized form of cannabis concentrate, now known as Rick Simpson Oil, or RSO. It became his mission and goal to distribute cannabis oil to those who needed it, free of charge. He helped more than 5,000 people with RSO, but his journey was not without its setbacks and struggles.

To this day, he continues to spread the word of his findings.

So, what is the difference then between CBD Oil and Rick Simpson Oil?

In addition to the Rick Simpson oil, the cannabinoid CBD has also received special attention. The cannabinoid shows a wide range of beneficial health qualities, all while being non-psychoactive – and legal (unlike RSO).

The most distinctive difference between CBD and RSO is that Rick Simpson Oil from cannabis is illegal, and that CBD oil from hemp lacks the THC content while being legal to make, import, buy and use.

There is no shortage of studies and anecdotal reports that show the beneficial aspects of cannabis. However, there is some confusion surrounding CBD oil, and how it is related to Rick Simpson oil. While they are similar in many aspects, they are still very different products.

Since they are coming from different strains (hemp and cannabis), they naturally contain different amounts of cannabinoids. The Rick Simpson oil is a full spectrum plant extract of potent cannabis. It therefore contains very high levels of THC and other cannabinoids; easily in the range of 50-60% THC and 10-15% CBD, depending on the strain that was used.

CBD oil is sold with less than 0.2% THC in the UK-making it not only legal, but you cannot get high or stoned from using it earlier..

In most jurisdictions worldwide, Rick Simpson Oil is illegal, and patients often turn to producing it themselves.

To conclude again, CBD Oil should not be confused with Rick Simpson Oil.

RSO is a high-THC product that is illegal to make, use or possess in almost every country, even those where you can lawfully smoke-dried flowers, but it has been reported to cure many chronic or even fatal diseases.

CBD Oil, on the other hand, is a high-CBD product with practically no THC that’s legal almost everywhere and helps in supporting and maintaining great health.
