He’s a force to be reckoned with…

Not only is he a new generation professional Mixed Martial Artist…he also prides himself on being the best-looking ginger in his town.

Joe Millward, 24, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, began MMA training three year ago and knew instantly that being a great fighter was his dream. In under two-and-a-half years he had fought 10 times and had already travelled internationally in the process.

He said: “In the short amount of time I’d been competing I had fought from Sunderland, Bradford and even travelled to the Czech Republic. I made the jump from amateur to professional after I reached the quarter finals in the IMMAF European Championships.”

Joe first started out his career in boxing but soon knew it would take more than just having a great right hook to succeed. He said: “I realised a little while into my boxing training that anyone I fought who was also talented at MMA would have a big advantage over me, so I knew I needed to learn mixed martial arts. I hate losing.”

He describes the most pivotal moment of his career as when he had his first professional bout. This fight taught him the biggest lesson and made him the fighter he is today. He said: “MMA is a freestyle art. I love fighting and I love to test myself”

“My favourite stand-out moment so far has to be my total knock out for the middle-weight title when I was fighting as an amateur. Currently my record stands at 8-2-1 as an amateur and 1-1 professionally.”

CBD Life UK was first brought to Joe’s attention by social media.  He said: “I love the products from CBD Life UK, they serve me well before, during and after training, really helping with my sleep and recovery. I couldn’t have recommended them enough to anyone. Not just athletes.”

In his spare time Joe meditates, reads, and watches documentaries, noting that he has a “mind of steel”.

In the near future Joe’s looking forward to adding to his medal collections (“which are mostly gold, by the way”), and making sure he is the best he can be both physically and mentally in preparation for his next professional fights. The only way is up!
